Ready for the Wedding?
Friends, for many weeks my heart has been inclined to share a message to as many as I can. I have not had the permission to preach this message as of yet but have felt it deep in my heart as I have thought about the world we live. Our world is in a depraved state. It is so evil and every day there is evidence of how quick it is turning cold. The more I ponder upon the death, the destruction, the greed, the carelessness, the lack of love, and the apathy towards God and His Son Jesus Christ, the more I am compelled to call out to the flock and ask, “Are you ready for the Lord’s coming?” I’m not trying to ring the old bell that has been rung so many times in an attempt to scare people into the kingdom of God. No. Rather, I am asking a simple question to those who are already Jesus’ true followers. Are you ready for your Savior? We are the “bride of Christ” (Rev 21:9 Click) and one day the Groom will show for His bride and we must be ready. (1Thes 4:16 Click) Unfortunately, I believe there are many Christians who have sunken in their chairs and have lost sight of the prize – eternal life with Christ. Oh, how sweet that day will be when we gain that prize. But what if it were today? Would it bring joy or shame into your life if perhaps you knew the day would be tomorrow? Nobody knows the exact day, but we are told to live our lives as if it were today. (Mark 13:32-36 Click) Unfortunately, there are many who are not ready. My beloved, are you ready? That question should lead you to a close and personal examination of where you stand in light of who God is. (2Cor 13:5 Click) We know we cannot hide anything from God – He knows whether we are living our lives as Holy Sacrifices unto Him. (Jer 23:24 Click) Thus, take a moment and be real with yourself and ask the question, “Am I ready to meet my Lord?” If you find you are not then why not decide today to get ready. If you find you are, then rejoice with me and pray for the return of the Groom! Yet not my will, but His will be done! If perhaps you want the Apostle Peter’s cry to the believer read his words in 2Peter 3 (Click). His cry is so applicable to our lives today… In Christ’s love, bill.
